Question 0 Beacons and Data capture at -50dbi ? Why ?

    I have problems capturing packets on this wifi network... any clues ? :(

    VMWare with Xiaopan OS 4.5.1
    Sinmax RTL8187L chipset
    Using MAC Mount Lion 10.8 OS

    Because it is a static connection. Most likely an AP that has no internet and not getting or sending traffic. Try authentication flood / deauthentication on that network. 0 seems strange though. You should least get a few. IVs is what you want to hack WEP.

    Depends on the router when i run aircrack installed on a dd-wrt router i can always see my ap but as it's capturing data it never sends beacons.

    Belkin routers tend to do that...on WEP and WPA2...when router feels its being attacked it goes into some kind of sleeping mode and will change channel as well. Netgear was considered to be the hardest router to crack. Now i believe its Belkin due to the updated firmware with the security features it has.
