that depends what you want. if you want a phone that with lots of (mainly ad ridden and pointless) apps. that can run linux get an android.
if you want an open source platform that runs linux nativey, and can make phone calls get an n900.
basically android is a phone, n900 is a computer that can make phone calls.

hi ecrudragon, firstly i am completely bias towards the n900, so of cause im going to yes, it is worthy!!
there are drivers available for rtl8187 based devices, you just need a usb otg cable. follow the links provided to read up more, the maemo (n900 os) community are still very much active and new updates are still arriving at a regular pace. the nokia n900 is a few years old now so not as snappy as newer phones, but it can do things others phones only dream of.

yeah battery life is an issue, i have two and an external charger. you can run out a battery in less than an hour when injecting packets.

russell It means you only can play with Wep while you're outside somewhere :) but it drains the battery in less than one hour that's too bad

    Hi,
if you will help me - that will be awesome.
So, i have N900 with KP52(kernel power) installed, what should i do to connect alfa AWUS036h?
Do i neeed to install drivers(aka modules) for rtl8187?if yes can you give me compiled one.

Drivers from maemo.org don't "insmod" with error "-1 Unknown symbol in module".

I also tried connect them (OTG) with out installing drivers and could see realtek only after "lsusb",but not other like "airmon-ng"
