just a nebie stuffed in a corner again. I have a N9500 BLUEWAY high power. the software I got with it is for 3070 chips. and I don,t know if this is a real match , but I Would like to know if any one knows how to wright a driver back to windows. can't find one. and some of the linux writers I talked to awhile back asked for windows drivers so they could re write them(as Ubuntu drivers).
Ralink 3070L (Alfa 036NH) latest standalone drivers for all OS version 5.1.7.0 extracted Drivers also work for the dual band mimo Alfa 051NH adapter This thread needed a bump. Extracted all the latest standalone drivers for all OS versions from WindowsXP - Windows 8 x86/x64 from Ralink Installshield, put them into their appropriate folders, and uploaded them as a .rar as a starting point as a foundation for having the latest version in driver form only, before any further modding takes place to unlock any functions. Ralink 5.1.7.0 Extracted Driver Only Drivers are from 06/09/2013. Just install them through device manager, and point them to the right folder for your OS. No extra crap will be installed. Pure latest drivers only. And with this post, Xiaopan Forum now has all the latest Windows drivers available for all 4 036xxx ALFA cards for download. Even newer than any what can be found at the ALFA website for your respective adapters. --- Double Post Merged, 17 Apr 2014 --- New Standalone Signed Alfa 036NH/051NH Drivers 5.1.9.0 from 21/11/2013 - For WinXP x86/x64, Win7 x86/X64, Win8 x86, x64 https://www.mediafire.com/?gvwh4btca2dgftx --- Double Post Merged, 6 May 2014 --- Potential Ralink Windows 8.1 x86/x64 beta driver - Untested Although nothing exists officially for Windows 8.1 yet for Ralink I found this trawling around which matches the 2770/3070 series code. You may have to install it as a netgear from device manager by choosing device since I cannot tamper with the .inf in any way for Win8/8.1 to add the correct devices, it may work, it may not. Untested since I don't have access to Windows 8.1. https://www.mediafire.com/?dv72z6s54e512m0 --- Double Post Merged, 10 May 2014 --- Further 036NH/051NH Ralink driver updates pack (can be updated standalone, or while keeping the Ralink GUI and updating from device manager) - Version 5.1.10.0 from 13/01/2014 (signed) with a new official 20Mhz Bandwidth force AP Mode parameter toggle. http://www.mediafire.com/download/zpd7ktd8fe0u7va/036NH-051NH_5.1.10.0.rar Official full package 5.1.11.0 051NH/036NH released 16/05/2014 by MediaTek http://www.mediatek.com/en/downloads/ (date on site is wrong but drivers are still updated) *Warning At least on my 3070 chipped adapters, and my 2770 adapter too, the link quality and signal strength reported by the RaUI are completely messed up on the latest official driver (although the driver itself behaves fine connectivity wise). The R symbol on the task tray is always (erroneously) green, and you will get no feedback on the strength or quality of the link in the matching GUI. It's actually the driver that is broken in this regard and not RaUI mis-reporting it, since I downgraded to 5.1.10.0 above while still keeping the same UI of 5.1.11.0. They also changed the installer, so I can no longer anymore unpack and extract the driver files to explore this bug further. The bug in question is that there are no fluctuations in link quality or signal strength, everything is always reported as full along with a constant green R symbol in the task tray along with bogus readings for SS. 5.1.10.0 or 5.1.9.0 driver is fine. However, having took note of this new flaw (which didn't exist in previous drivers), these are indeed the first official Ralink drivers for Windows 8.1 (blue) which for those using Ralink have been waiting some time for. In the process of the transition for catering for Windows 8.1, the Windows 7 driver (at least) in the package seems to have become inadvertently broken/buggy. The 5.1.11.0 driver also strangely works flawlessly under Windows XP, and reports LQ and SS correctly. I've submitted a bug report to MediaTek in the meantime specifying Win7 x64 as used OS where the bug occurs. Vista may be affected as well. I wasn't able to test Vista or x86 flavours of the driver. Workaround for those OS's where 5.1.11.0 doesn't work properly and shows link quality and SS in GUI wrong. Just install 5.1.11.0 package as normal (to get the newer UI), uninstall the 5.1.11.0 driver from device manager, and use and install 5.1.10.0 driver from device manager linked above which has the same benefits as 5.1.11.0 (forcing BW20 in AP mode) and is only slightly earlier in date than 5.1.11.0 yet is a decent working driver unlike 5.1.11.0.
Running Windows 8.1, Alfa AWUS036NH RT3070 I have tried the beta divers, they keep disconnecting but seem more stable than all the others I have tried (5.1.11.0, Windows default, 5.1.10.0, etc) this link talks about inf editing http://www.getdriver.com/how-to/241...k-windows-8-8-1-inf-modding.html#.U8ixDLh6LZs I hope this helps
I have alfa 036NH and Windows 8.1 pro with update and i cant get it to work i tried all this drivers that i saw in this post but didn't help anyone had similar issues ? please help
The latest drivers are buggy, even on Windows 7. I suppose Ralink really need to fix the drivers up for Windows 8. You could try downloading from mediatek 5.1.11.0 again, as while not changing the driver version, they changed other components inside recently and re-uploaded it.
just downloaded latest version USB (RT2870/ RT2770/ RT307X/ RT2070 RT357X/ RT3370/ RT8070/ RT5X7X/ MT7610/ MT7601) but still have the same problem are your drivers working on windows 8.1 ?
Since they're based off of what there is already available, I'd have to say no then... The problem lies with mediatek, and they don't seem in a hurry to solve it (only releasing as they do) a handful of drivers a year. Windows 8.1 as you found, is a completely different animal when it comes to working 100% wifi drivers. Atheros and Realtek has had it's fair share of issues under Win8.1 as well... One wonders if Intel or Broadcom is any better here.
latest are 5.1.11.0,on mediatek site. and they have problems with link quality and SS in GUI. i see it on they download site a moment ago
The GUI in itself is fine, it's the driver themselves (specifically 5.1.11.0) that show the link quality and SS broken. Reverting to 5.1.10.0 (which I uploaded) while keeping the GUI will work for fixing the SS at least, and is only a few days older than 5.1.11.0 anyway. I emailed them about it ages ago (to the right mediatek email address) with screenshots to prove what it's doing borking the signal bars on 036NH and 051NH too. I heard nothing back at all like they just don't care. It seems to work fine on Windows XP though... They only seem to release a handful of drivers a year.
Yup,thats true. I put yours 5.1.10 to my sk 999 and sk 360000,and all cards work fine On w7/64. It is a little stupid they dont have drivers archive,so it is hard to find older drivers. I write them about problem too,but it seams they dont care
And I also have a low speed on windows 8.1 Up1 with 5.1.10 driver installed...have a full 100 MB DL/UP but i don't get more then 20 MB I just reinstall a fresh windows with latest updates and nothing. In Linux Ubuntu I have full internet speed.
for you guys it's working on windows 8.1 upd ?? i can't get it to work installed every version on drivers i have 036 NH
13/08/2014 New 3070/2770 drivers version 5.1.17.0 released at the mediatek download page : http://www.mediatek.com/en/downloads/ * The branding is now all changed in the UI and throughout the installer to Mediatek * The signal strength UI bug from the previous version has been FIXED in driver 5.1.17.0. * The drivers may work much better now on Win 8/8.1, but can't comment on that since I have Win7. * The task tray icon is no longer a coloured "R" but signal strength bars. Overall they seem to be a solid set of drivers for the 036NH & 051NH at least on my Win7 x64 system.
Gee I wouldn't 100% know, since I have no plans to ever touch Win8...I was just at least "hoping" they would be better, given the time they've had. I guess they really need to get their act together for Windows 8.1 support for their range of chipsets. It's been out long enough now without a working 3070/2770 driver. I'm just glad the bug from the previous version are fixed in my case (Win7 x64), and I just noticed they updated the drivers today, so I linked it in for everyone. I haven't tested them on XP yet, but I assume they will work. The previous version 5.1.11.0 was a bug ridden mess. They must have had 10's of thousands of reports about the SS indication being screwed, I guess they couldn't have time to reply to everybody, anyway it's fixed. --- Double Post Merged, 27 Aug 2014 --- Footnote on 5.1.17.0 While these work fine for me compared to 5.1.11.0 in station mode, I can't get any sort of AP mode to work on 5.1.17.0. The utility just disappears and doesn't come back in AP form of GUI. I suspect a few things got missed in the renaming of Ralink to Mediatek throughout the GUI and some old dependencies don't exist anymore. This was on Win7 x64 with an AWUS051NH. Previous versions work for switching to AP mode from the tray icon. Do they test these drivers or what, doh ! --- Double Post Merged, 23 Jan 2015 --- 5.1.20.0 Released Jan '15 http://www.mediatek.com/en/downloads/ While this version seems to work completely fine for my ALFA051NH as tested. (Ralink 2770F, and they fixed all the UI issues I reported btw). I wouldn't recommend using it for 036NH/Ralink 3070 based adapters. There seems to be some problems with range, and speed drops that the 5.1.7.0 and below +(3.2.11.0 Ralink based stuff) don't seem afflicted by. Although it might be worth trying if your using Windows 8. Stick with 3.2.11.0 and below or 5.1.7.0 for Windows 7 to get the best speeds and connectivity.
