Thanks for the suggestion. I will keep plugging away at getting all the parts and then perhaps create a torrent to make it easier for others if the author isn't opposed to that.
Hello vrocco, welcome to Xiaopan forums, unfortunately I do not have the luxury of creating a torrent due to my speeds and limited upload / downloads a month. I will ask Pascal or Lutzero or imjojo if they could There is VIP membership in it if you guys could help us out I am going to create a new build shortly when BackTrack R3 comes out, I will also add Reaver Pro and update compat wireless. It will also be a KDE version.

I may just wait for the new version before doing all this downloading on this version --- Double Post Merged, 1 Aug 2012 --- another request.......when you do the next version, could you make it an ISO? That way it can either be installed in Parallels or VMWare or it can be made into a bootable USB drive as well.

Yes, that is something I will consider. That will give people the option to run it live, run it live in a VM or run it as a virtual machine. I will also be considering compressing the ISO so it is a smaller download but I will need to research more into that. Thank you very much imjojo and welcome to being our latest VIP member.

Just FYI but you will be able to upgrade this to BackTrack R3 no problems with the following command once released August 13: Code: Select All apt-get update apt-get upgrade apt-get dist-upgrade apt-get auto-remove Click here on how to install latest Compat-Wireless Unfortunately, because this is Gnome you can't install Reaver Pro using the installer files. But in future I believe someone will figure out how to do it. It is not a limitation that is for sure, because the Reaver Pro ISO is a Gnome version. Personally I am quite happy with command line Reaver and Inflator, But others insist on having Reaver Pro I should also say that this pvm can be easily converted into a vdmk (VMware image) using VMware or Workstation. I am unaware how to create an ISO from an image, but believe it can be done using remastersys in the guest machine

no issues with the torrent. I downloaded and have been seeding for the past six hours or so. As a side note, the last part was named: "BackTrack_5_R2p10.rar" it needs to be: "BackTrack_5_R2pt10.rar" (Notice the "t" was missing) This is slightly different than what is noted in the first post on this thread. This is what I had to do to get WinRAR to recognize the last part.
oh cool it's working! yes the "t" was missing, I intentionally did that because on my end thats what I had to do in order for me to extract the files but, if it worked for you, thats great.
