Hi Crackerz Wave, what do you think of the (VIP) BETA release of Xiaopan 0.4.3? Any clues as to what to expect?
Cannot tell you to much.......but i only can said is huge difference with others version..it like rebirth of xiaopan.......and it easily detect card without plug and unplug.............cool theme, nice app and has browser
Thanks Crackerz. Maybe it is time for me to forget Microsoft. There are very good open-source operating systems and apps available now. I'm very encouraged.
Donwload finished, now installing Xiaopan 0.4.3 in VMware Workstation 8.0.4. Will be testing it through boot as well.
Crackerz Wave how about you make a screencast and post it on youtube for us? Show some of the new features in action, have a cool song playing in the background
Xiaopan 0.4.3b runs fine through USB boot (pendrive) flashed using UNetBootin Windows 578. Only tested with RealTek 8187L though. Later will be testing using RealTek 8188 & Ralink RT-3070. Now testing through VMWare Workstation 8.0.4. Although I kinda disklike having to choose the resolution everytime I start Xiaopan OS. Is there anyway someone can make it start automatically at 1024x768 and then change the resolution aftewards when Xiaopan has finished loading? Just a suggestion. :joy --- Double Post Merged, 5 Aug 2012 --- Hmm.... Can't detect any signals when running Xiaopan 0.4.3b through VMware Workstation.
It can be installed as a virtual hard drive through Frugal, whole disk method. There sure is, you can also change other boot parameters like language. Here is the boot config list in the new 0.4.3: Code: Select All #display boot.msg default xiaopanOS label xiaopanOS kernel /boot/vmlinuz append initrd=/boot/core.gz quiet core cde vga=792 waitusb=3 mydata=xiaopan lang=en.utf8 restore=sr0/cde #implicit 0 prompt 0 F1 boot.msg F2 f2 F3 f3 F4 f4 By default it is setup as 1024x768x24 simply edit the isolinux.cfg file and change the 792 to whatever you desire. Mount it with UltraISO, then replace the new modified isolinux.cfg file in boot / isolinux / isolinux.cfg. Then remaster the ISO in UltraISO Standard Supported Video Modes 640×480 769 (8bit) 784 (15bit) 785 (32bit) 786 (24bit) 800x600 771 (8bit) 787 (15bit) 788 (32bit) 789 (24bit) 1024x768 773 (8bit) 790 (15bit) 791 (32bit) 792 (24bit) 1280x1024 775 (8bit) 793 (15bit) 794 (32bit) 795 (24bit) More information: http://wiki.tinycorelinux.net/wiki:display_modes To do this in Xiaopan click on the ControlPanel > Xvesa Then navigate using ext, (p)revious until you find the desired resolution, then enter the number and use (q)uit to exit. Is this with the RTL8187L? I have tested it in both Parallels Desktop and VMware for Mac and it works well.
