to dnerycheong on page #1 is Password: xiaopanrocks --- Double Post Merged, 1 Sep 2012 --- Hi gancho I do not understand where you can turn off the microphone. A few minutes looking for how to disable it, the speakers gave off a strong sound and even the smell of smoke appeared. This problem of program can kill a laptop!!!!! Developers, please solve this problem!
You can tag users adding @ before the username, e.g Longo that way user you tagged will be notified. you can help us by telling your hardware specs, how are you using xiaopan (Live CD/USB, VM) since i don't have this issue and just 2 members have reported that (you included)
Longo That is crazy, I doubt that your problem is software related, can you please give us some more information on your hardware. Generally a loud sound following followed by a whiff of smoke or a power loss could point to a more serious problem. You need to find the source of the smoke. Is the internals dusty?
The computer was verse 1 month ago, it is still under warranty. I can not open it and find out the cause of the smell. But I can already say that the left speaker died. Hardware: ASUS A53SM, iCore i3 2350, ddr3 8gb, geforce gt 630m, Realtek High Definition Audio. I used xiaopan 0.4.3 with USB stick. After loading OS got very strong noise. Tried to switch off the microphone, (about 2 minutes)but did not find how to do it. Hope, this message will help.
