Hi all, how's the TOP 5 ranking of WIFI hacking devices on the market (most popular and best selling) I assume it goes like this: 1. ALFA 2. Signalking 3. Wifisky 4. TPLink 5. Kasens
I have an Alfa (AR9271) & a TP-Link (RT3070) both works so fine to me (I added a poll, cast your vote )
For what is worth, I'm using both the Alfa AWUS036H & Wifisky 2mW and performance-wise they're identical since they're both based on RTL8187L (The Wifisky seems a bit more sensitive to picking up APs). Crack them open and they both are cheap things with misaligned heatsinks built in China/Taiwan for $3 in parts, but they do get the job done. Since most people are familiar with the Alfa the Wifisky looks the same:
^^^The price of the Wifisky can't be beat and if my Kasens dies I will get one. At least the Wifisky has a heatsink, the Alfa and Kasens do not so I added one on mine (20x20mmx2mm copper).
meaning dat for bruteforcing using Wifisky 2mW is better than alfa? i need to know which one the best wireless adapter for that..
Remington, I got the wifisky because I couldn't source an Alfa locally then. Price was about $5-$10 less than the Alfa depending on where you looked at. Good job with the heatsink, I guess these things will get fried after 6 months of use. air_pull91, They're identical, don't sweat over a few mW more or less. Just get what you can source locally as long as it's based on the same chipset . The wifisky seems more responsive with my setup but yours might be totally different. Bruteforce attacks do not depend on the wireless card only.
loop, I can get Wifisky for $17 which is $13 less than a Alfa and my Kasens only cost $19. That 8187L chip gets very hot and I want it to last so on top of the copper heatsink I added an Aluminum heatsink as well. I used my dead NHR shell for it.
