i am going to post the math and the link to a calculator to do all the equations for where to place the receiver in a parabolic (satellite dish) antennae. there is a precise placement depending on how deep the dish is and its diameter. But until this weekend (I will post a complete build) here is a link if you seriously want to now about antenna design. It has the top designs and all the math. Do not let the fact that you see miciwave or 10 Ghz antennaes being referred to. That is irrelevant as you just need to punch in the proper Ghz you are looking for and the computer will give use the proper dimensions to cut out and put together.
There is even a program there that will give you a printout that you can place on metal and cut out. It is free of course. I will be posting those programs this weekend and a build of a 20 to 25 dbi gain horn with a metal lense.
    Here is the first link

For lots of good info here is first off the record holders for the longest UNAMPLIFIED wifi B signal . They were able to use the old satellite dishes (the huge ones we used to have in our yards to get satellite tv) It is pretty amazing to send a wifi signal both ways over 125 miles.

But this site is the one that I follow all the time and I am building a similar antennae to the strainer that is posted here. There is something I wanted to point out also when using a usb device and a dish to focus the signal I see lots of people aiming there USB dongle horizontally along the dish axix. The dongles radiate outwards from a vertical (Standing) position . When you lay it on its side you are only hurting yourself in your ability to recieve and send. Thats one reason why someone might not see very much in the way of gains when they build on of these. I am going to do a build this weekend and put up the pictures here as I have decided this will be home base for all my hacking and wifi outbursts until I get run off.. HA
Okay gotta run get ready for the build . oh and on top of that those little paper cut outs you can put on your router and aim to whee you need signal . They are super fast and called surfsails or some odd thing. Take about 5 minutes to make and give you an extra bar of connection in your house if you have a low spot..
Ill find the dange plans for it somewhere..
    Have a good day

The Cantenna does work, I got a 50% increase in signal strength with it back when I had one of those wifi sticks.

This is something I made before the Cantenna. I got a 30% increase with this.[IMG]
