I have an external alfa 306 with the rtl8187l chipset. I have a usb 3.0 port but have only used it in my usb 2.0 one. I will try the 3.0.

hi i tried to install mindiwep-gtk 30315 in ubuntu 12.04.1 and i cant seem to find the app. there is no application tab like what is in your screenshot. can anyone help ? i tried looking for it in the search tab and its not in the software center as well i installed by typing dpkg -i file_name.deb
Find and install "minidwep-gtk-30419-ubuntu-32bit" instead of "minidwep-gtk-30513-bt5-32bit" . Obviously the backtrack package does not work on Ubuntu or has some unsatisfied and unknown dependencies.
I use minidwep to crack WEP and reaver for WPA/2 etc. It only takes me about 15 mins to get around 30000 IV's and has to be easier and better for us non programming minded untermensch

mezy You need to download the Xiaopan version of Minidwep... then use UltraISO to navigate using the file explorer and replace the old minidwep with the new one (you may need to rename it to the old existing filename). Then you need to save as the ISO as a new one and mount that into VM or create a Live USB / CD. In theory that should work but I haven't tried it yet, so I cannot be certain.
mezy. Step 1: Download Minidwep for Xiaopan (in windows) Step 2: Download UltraISO (in windows) Step 3: Open your Xiaopan ISO with UltraISO (in windows) Step 4: Navigate to where the minidwep tcz or tce file is Step 5: Replace it with your new minidwep Step 6: Save as new ISO Step 7: Create a new VM with the ISO you remastered Step 8: Choose Other Linux Kernel 2.6 when you add it to VMware.
