hi everybody. i've gained access to some routers admin panels (linksys, tp-link, d-link). 1. what can i do from here? i mean is there something useful to do once you get admin access to a router? can you redirect trafic or spoof sites like facebook or something? 2. what do i have to set up in the router's admin panel to be able to access the panel from my home over the internet? 3. by "pwning" a router (having access to admin panel) can i sniff the trafic or something? i'm new to this stuff, on the internet i find just a bunch of bad explained stuff that confuses me. and another question: 4. i have a rooted smartphone with android. is there any program do get the WEP password from a d-link router? i have to say the password is not default, as my friend who owns the router put a custom password from his mind on the router. thank you
1. Most run of the mill routers you can't if you have a ddwrt router you can use nocatsplash as for spoof sites like Facebook if you can write the pages and host them yourself maybe. 2 From home the normal way you access your router, over the internet turn on remote management if you have it. 3 Cant see how it's pwned you have the password far from being pwned, you can only sniff traffic between router and client unless it's bridged or switched then you can use iptables (i could go on but i think id be wasting my time), 4 No you have to get the wep password the normal way.
ok, so from what i understood, you can't do pretty anything from just having access to admin panel. but, if i manage to put the ddwrt firmware on those, routers, what can i accomplish in terms of spying/hacking? if you could gie me some examples or tutorials i'd be very grateful. another question: is it possible to bridge 10 routers(with ddwrt as a firmware) and create a chain between them until my house, will i be able to capture the traffic from all devices connected to those bridged routers, on my home pc?
No i think you understood wrong, id suggest you read more. ddwrt you need physical contact to the router, only certain router you can flash ddwrt. judging from your questions i think your miles away from accomplishing anything why and how would you do that a bridge will only act as a bridge not a router.
