Played a little bit with it last night. I think unveil will help many people out there and I like how it is in the dock (except, the icon looks a bit squarish ). Made a 10 digit phone number dictionary in about 10 seconds, I like that... Telstra are not going to like this with their BigPondXXXX I created a Live USB using LiLi (Fantasma method) and the default tiny core background showed up. This is a known issue and easily solved: 99 - Boot Xiaopan with grub4dos - RMPrepUSB I also think Bib.tcz and the battery status indicator would be great in the final version.
that's why xiaopan 0.4.4 - 0.4.5.1 have boot options. I tested this beta with my RT3070 & NHA, minidwep,inflator & feedingbottle does not find ap's seems like airodump is not working or something, also on VM Ware any of my cards are recognized (and yes, unplugged and plugged a lot of times) Anyone also is having this issues?
well i have the nhr i will give you my report next week i will be trying to crack my own ap many differnt ways over the next week i do have to use vmware
Thanks and just a little suggestion. i think we need an " official beta tester group" for provide valuable feedback or something like that, since the VIP members that tested earlier betas, never gave feedback to us (except estimacamry, ImJoJo and Pascal)

Very nice os but it is missing some stuff: -battery indicator -minidwep-gtk scanning not working -wallpaper not working (the dark knight rises is beautiful) -handshake location unknown and not knowing how to copy it to usb drive (actually possible but hard) that's what i encountered TILL NOW. Gonna discover more stuff later today

Depend's on what you used to capture handshakes .cap file kismet it's in the home folder , minidwep is in the /tmp/minidwep until you close it (clean's the tmp folder on exit) Probably best to strip handshakes from cap file with pyrit,wireshark or tshark Code: Select All pyrit –r <input file> –o <output file> -e <essid> strip Code: Select All tshark -r <input file> -R "eapol || wlan.fc.type_subtype == 0x04 || wlan.fc.type_subtype == 0x08" -w <output file> tshark -r <input file> -R "eapol || wlan_mgt == <bssid>" -w <output file> tshark -r <input file> -R "eapol || wlan_mgt.tag.interpretation eq <essid>" -w <output file> Open your capture in Wireshark Enter "eapol || wlan.fc.type_subtype == 0x04 || wlan.fc.type_subtype == 0x08" as filter expression (without quotes) then press "Apply" Go to File->Save As... menu, enter new file name and select "Displayed" to save filtered packets only
found some bugs in Aby$m os: -can't use pyrit,hashcat, or crunch since rootshell not present (tried in sakura but had no luck) -best feature working "feeding bottle" -can't mount stuff from usb (place not very clear) -wallpaper not displayed -minidwep-gtk not working -no battery status -add xfe to the os (it'll make life much easier) If all the above bugs were fixed, The Aby$m os will become on FIRE!!:yes
@Fantastic Thank you for your input, your observations are valuable to the continued development of Aby$m-OS. I in-courage others to come forward with their observations, to help improve the Distribution further. I have created a new build which fix's the wallpaper issue and, also the inherited bug of JTR 1.7.9, I just need someone to host "Aby$m-OS-Beta-0.002" ~Aby$m.
tested both versions AbySm in VM, the things I got working - 1.connect to Internet trough usb wifi 2.wireshark works as well 3.Unveil starts, but I am not able to connect to the open AP. 4.Minidwep, inflator, feedingbootle are starting, setting monitor mode but no APs found.
Love the openbox , much better GUI. One annoyance with Firefox is that it hasn't been setup and there are some loops you have to cross before you can start using it. Perhaps using ezremaster after it has been setup with basic settings. Might be a good idea to show what extensions are being loaded at boot, so people can see it is doing something. Since for newbies, they would probably say it is not working and complain. Arrangement of icons... Maybe core to the left... connect in the middle and hacking apps on the right? Also getting this error with PCmanFM:
