Hi all, I have problem again, I bought my ALFA AWUS036H 2 months ago, it works almost perfect the first month. I managed to crack 3 WPA2-PSK in 1 week, everything was OK in the beginning and I was very satisfied with this product of ALFA......but after 1 month, my ALFA AWUS036H started giving me connection/detection problems: 1. NO Detection when I powered on my VMWare Player, I had to unplud and plug-in again and again, repeating many times just to get detection. 3. I had tried run it on both Win 7 & Win XP, also tried VMWare 4&7, it still give me problem. 2. Everytime I had to repeat 4-5 times of unplugs/plug-ins just to get the detection, but then Reaver (in Minidwep) won't run (see my photo below), I tried about 20 times and still the same failure message, I move everything to other PCs too, same failure messages came out.
If it is not working contact the seller or ALFA directly. Clearly there is something wrong with it. Did you check the chipset for burns or smoke?
rempit I have the same card as yours, sometimes I do face the same problem where Xiaopan/Beini does not detect my card. Not only Alfa, even my Signalking with rtl8187 has the same problem sometimes. When it does recognize, I face hard block issues on my cards. After a few frustrated occasion, I decided to run liveusb of Backtrack 5 which is flawless. Give Backtrack 5 a try, I'm sure you gonna love it. I'm using BT5 Gnome 32bit. Just seems strange the device isn't even working in Windows :no. If it is not working in everything it is most likely the chipset or cable.

Estimacamry, I suspect my AWUS036H is partly damaged, like MrPenguin said maybe the chipset damaged internally although it can still received wifi signals but not Reaver anymore...btw I will try BT5 when I have time, thanks appreciate for helping....:yesGeek (** I don't know why I still need to hack new passwords, I already have 10+...)
YES I can still receive wifi signals and I can even watch movie using this AWUS036H, I can also connect to Xiaopan from VMWare Player and access to Sudo and Mindwep, the only thing I cannot do is REAVER (as shown in the photo i uploaded in the first post)
Reaver is a bit funny sometimes. It is like a 40 year old unmaintained car. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I have a Alfa AWUS 036NHR having somewhat similar issue. Can't seem to be able to receive signals after barely 5 months. Sent it back to seller and got a new replacement card. Now working again.
