i'm considering to buy an alfa awus036h. it is a g-adapter but my wifi is 802.11n, not 802.11g. so can it be used to crack the n-network? btw, is there any online stores selling cheap but nice alfa? there are too many (a lot are below us20, some are even less than us15) on ebay, amazon, alibaba etc. that i dont know which one to choose...[cause i dont know which one is the real thing] @@ thank you very much
Most networks are B,G,N because routers come set up that way. I have bought several ALFA's on ebay and they were all genuine. I don't buy ALFA's anymore though.

You can see in Remington 's signature what is he using. is a good ideia add a forum signature including the hardware & software that you are using

Anyone pls can you tell me how to get Xiaopan to recognize Alfa awus036h. It looks like it works with reaver and minidwep,..although light on the card is off, but when I try to connect to my own wireless network it only shows my internal wireless card (wlan 0) , not usb. Is there a command or something to switch between cards? Thnx very much!!!!
^ 36H will show up as wlan0. You say it looks like it works with Reaver/Minidwep but does it or not. 036H works with everything including all Xiaopan versions just connect and go.
It looks like its working (in console) but THE INDICATOR LIGHT IS OFF (the little green one)!!! Tried to connect to open ap via network manager, (or whatever it is), it only discovers wlan1 (built in notebook wireless card). Did you get it now?
