Hi guys, thanks for the help.

I know this is a common problem, but none of the solutions online could help. I'm running Xiaopan 6.4.1 on VirtualBox, with a PAUO6 network adapter.

    Ifconfig finds no wlan0,
    Iwconfig finds nothing.

I've tried booting up with and without the network adapter plugged in and USB enabled/disabled.

Can anyone give me some tips?

    Thanks so much

First question - what is your host OS? second question for you have virtualbox extensions installed?

There is an extension pack included for just about every of the last majority or virtualbox release builds

Also keep in mind that unless you are using something like KVM or similar virtual environments like vbox are really not much more then compatibility layers / emulators like Wine for Linux, depending on how your device is passed through to that virtualization layer it may not be recognized by the kernel of the guest OS - ie Xiaopan. The last release build of Xiaopan was using kernel 3.x so it is possible your device is not compatible by the default kernel modules/drives compiled into that Tiny Core kernel of that time.
