A humble and simple setup for a beginner like me Alfa AWUS036H with 9dBi antenna, currently interested in searching for either yagi or directional antenna.
Respectable, thank you for sharing . Just be careful with those large omni's, I had one break the SMA plug, they seem to be just pushed in, an easy fix but once you break it a bit of superglue should hold it steady
ouch, maybe when it breaks, it is time for a new one..lols.. btw from reading threads around here, i dont see anything about the alfa directional 7dBi antenna, is it not worth buying? as i am eyeing this or a generic yagi 18dBi something like that.
I do not have a directional alfa 7dbi. I have heard from people in other forums and in product reviews they perform much better than the omni's. What we need is someone with all this hardware and plenty of time to test Check here for reviews Here is a quote:

It is like $12 for 2 or $9 for 1 . It is not going to be as good as the yagi (distance), but all that depends on if you are focusing on 1 ap or a whole bunch. You might find the omni better suited to your needs.
