    What is the Issue?:
Using 0.4.3 So trying to get the WPA2 from a virgin media hub. When I open miniwep and use reaver through it, it comes up with "detected AP limiting rate" every 5 pins or so and freezes me for 300s. I've scanned the forum and google, it tells me to turn the AP limiting rate off. My question is... How do I do that? Thankyou for your time, Casio

This issue isn't a limitation of your device, it is a limitation of the AP you are attacking. It is limiting the pin attempts because you are doing it too fast. It is a security feature and if you continue to through pins at it you are likely to trigger that WPS AP into a locked state. If you turn off the AP limiting rate you are likely to miss the pin. You need to slow down the attack using the -d flag. Start at 15, then work your way down. If you start getting that limiting rate, increase it.

I would use the following attack command:
    Code:
    Select All
    -d 15 -T .30
Here you are setting the pin delay to 15 seconds, and the M5/M7 timeout period is .30 seconds

But to speed up the attack and likely miss the pin use the following:
    Code:
    Select All
    -d 0 -T .1 -L -N -S
Here you have no delay in pin attempt, M5/M7 timeout period is at a bare minimum, locks are ignored, no nacks and small dh keys implimented.

As I have said before, it is trial and error.

Sorry I have never used Linux before, so these commands and setup are all new to me. Thanks for adding in some of the explanations.

Inflator doesn't find any APs for me, I wish it did. Do you think I should try an older version? It finds my card fine, just doesn't want to find anything else.

I used minidwep again and when I click Reaver, it comes up with:
    "reaver -i mon0 -b [bssid code] -c 1"
With the option to add more code beneath. By default it is:
    "-a -v -s -x 20 -v 100:10 -I 300"
So do I add or replace with the code you gave me?

Also I found some routers it works fine with so I'll try again with those tonight but I really wanted to crack a virgin media home hub.

Can someone pls answer to this question about codes, how, where to add them?

With the option to add more code beneath. By default it is:
    "-a -v -s -x 20 -v 100:10 -I 300" ( I added it here in front of -a, like this : -d 15 -T .30 -a -v -s -x 20 -v 100:10 -I 300) Is this the right code? I also tried with more delay, -d 20 or 25. but AP still giving me LIMITING RATE. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Could someone please answer this question? I don't know what order these commands go into within the midiwep box that pops up, when i click the reaver button to crack wpa2-PSK wps protected wifi. My default setting are -a -v -S -x 2 -r 100 -l 2 i opened up a console and typed reaver and i got a few command, definitions but not all of them. I don't know what these commads, refer too. Needs some assistance.

Complete Reaver Cheatset and List of Flags
-l Set the time to wait if the AP locks WPS pin attempts
-x Set the time to sleep after 10 unexpected failures
    -v Real time progress
-vv Verbose mode that shows detailed progress / errors. Great for troubleshooting
-p Specify 4 or 8 digits of the pin
    -t Receive timeout period
-d Set the delay between pin attempts
    -t Receive timeout period
    -T Set the M5 / M7 timeout period
    -r Load previous session
    -n --nack
-A --no associate (you still will need aireplay or something to associate. E.g: new window)
    -w --win7
    -L --ignore-locks
    -E --eap-terminate
    -N --no-nacks
    -S --dh-small
-c --fix interface channel. I.e: select channel
    -s --scan mode
-C --ignore frame checksum errors (select if finding no APs)
    -5 --search 5Ghz channels

Use these to fine tune your Reaver successes and performance
