    Required *.dat files for the successful runtime use of GeoIP as well as Ettercap using GeoIP

    GeoIP-api-c has been a default TinyPaw package for some time as I gear up for v1.5 release I noticed the absence of local *.dat files needed for complete usage of GeoIP features.

    geoip-dat-files packaged as follows:

    /usr/

    /usr/local/

    /usr/local/share/

    /usr/local/share/GeoIP/

    /usr/local/share/GeoIP/GeoIP.dat

    /usr/local/share/GeoIP/GeoIPASNum.dat

    /usr/local/share/GeoIP/GeoIPASNumv6.dat

    /usr/local/share/GeoIP/GeoIPv6.dat

    /usr/local/share/GeoIP/GeoLiteCity.dat

    /usr/local/share/GeoIP/GeoLiteCityv6.dat

    Available at:

    @sourceforge:

    geoip-dat-files.tcz

    @bitbucket:

    geoip-dat-files.tcz

    Installation:

    1.) Download geoip-dat-files package from either above repository.

    2.) Copy or move downloaded package to your (*/tce/optional/) directory.

    3.) Find and open your onboot.lst file located in your (*/tce/) directory and make following changes:

    -add line item: "geoip-dat-files.tcz"

    4.) Save changes by (file+save) or (cntl+s) and close your editor.

    5.) Close out of all open windows and reboot your system.

    6.) Upon system reboot geoip will have necessary *.dat files for full usage.
