I have been on the lookout for some easy software to unlock my Telstra E8278 4G dongle for free. Quite a few people sell it for a few dollars on a number of niche sites and there is software that uses a credit system like DC Locker. I came across modemunlock.com and thought it was a scam but I was pleasantly wrong. Huawei Algorithm Check (Old Algo / New Algo) Note that the supported models are not the only ones that are crack-able. My E8278s is not listed (See the end list) and it worked. Tutorial to network unlock E8278s a) Do steps 16 - 17 first if you are unsure if your dongle is unlocked or locked 1) Plug in your dongle 2) Visit here: http://m.home/html/deviceinformation.html or http://192.168.1.1/html/deviceinformation.htm or http://pocket.wifi/html/deviceinformation.htm 3) Enter admin for password and username 4) If that doesn't work you can reset your device using a pin when you open the device (slide down) 5) Copy the IMEI 6) Visit this website Huawei Algorithm Check (Old Algo / New Algo) 7) Enter your IMEI 8) You will need to visit Huawei New Algo Unlock Code Online Calculator Free to see how to use it 9) Sign in with your Google+ Account 10) Enter the IMEI and model number without the s at the end. 11) To finally get the unlock code you must G+ it 12) Take the dongle out, insert an old or new sim from a different carrier (must be different, not like ALDImobile as they use the Telstra network. Optus or Vodaphone SIM would work 13) Insert the dongle back and visit http://m.home/ or http://192.168.1.1 or http://pocket.wifi 14) You should be automatically redirected to input the unlock code (you have 10 chances getting it right, but if it is second hand, check with DC Unlocker). 15) Once entered it should take you back to the home page 16) To check to see if your modem is unlocked Download DC Locker Unlock phone, modem or data card with DC-unlocker software 17) It will tell you if it is unlocked. i unlocked my mmodem already, but the problem i am having is that it is lock to 4G only , and can not work on 3G, so what can i do. Thanks you.
