Hi everyone, Having the no space left on device error on Feeding Bottle & Minidwep running Wep. Read in the net it is somehow due to RAM not enough. Tried the airodump-ng ivs command but still doesn't work. Any ideas? Im new to Linux so please enlighten me with step by step tutorials. Thanks in Advance. Sent from my GT-P6200 using Tapatalk 4
One idea Give more info how you running it what you running it on ect, or do we guess till we get it right??
Hi Meknb, sorry for the incomplete description, was getting late and have to restart the whole process in order to jot down everything. Anyway here are the details, Using a Pentium 4 pc 3.0Ghz with 512 Mb Ram to run Xioapan 0.4.6.1 from Usb. The wifi is a Usb type shown on screen as "wlan Unknown rt2800usb [PHY 0]. Minidwep-gtk 40420 scanning for WEP The problem as stated earlier on the whole process will start to run and ivs begin to collect but after awhile like around 2 million packets the whole process will stop with the error message fwrite (packet data) failed:no space left on device. It happens too when using 2 other laptops with one of them a dual core with 2 gig ram but using beini... Minidwep-gtk runs automatically and so is airodump-ng. Any ideas on how to edit any file to make "virtual memory"? Hopefully my explanation is detailed enough to solve my issue. Thanks in advance.
Hi Mr P, no not running in virtual. No idea on how to do that yet. Thanks. Sent from my GT-P6200 using Tapatalk 4
Hi All, In addition to the no space left on device error message the minidwep-gtk screen goes blank after 20 minutes or so into packet injection. While still having the No space left on device error The packets arecstill rising and counting and even thoughvi can't see my ivs count anymore i can stillvsee #data counting.(i assume that is the iv count). Thanks in advance. Sent from my GT-P6200 using Tapatalk 4
You could try and add a swap file use a empty partition or pendrive at boot press f2 then point it to your pendrive swapfile=/mnt/sdaX "whatever your drive is" or could point it to your pendrive you have xiaopan installed on. Use mount tool to find out what your drive is.
You can also remove some of the apps from your onboot.lst just load the ones you need that will save on ram.
How do i remove the apps from the onboot? Everything is running in autmatically like in a batch file. Do i have to edit them after Xioapan loaded or can i do it in windows? Sorry but i'm still very green with linux commands and have not much of an idea which is which. Thanks . Sent from my GT-P6200 using Tapatalk 4
In your "tce" if your loaded from pendrive or cde if from a iso or cd there is a onboot.lst which is a list of all the stuff loaded also have a look at the tcz2ram.lst you could probably remove a lot of the firmware ect. Just open these files with notepad.
Hi Meknb, Press F2 while xioapan is booting and type in the command core swapfile{=hda1}. Xioapan booted, checked with the mount tool icon and noted that sda1 is mounted. Q1: Is it the same if i mount sda1 after xioapan booted without doing the F2 command at boot up?I can just check sda1 at the mount tool icon. Q2: What is sda1? I just mounted it,right?? Q3: Can i execute a command in airodump-ng where it will save the injected packets or the received packets ? I'm letting it run it's course and will see whether it gives out the out of space error... Please bear with me. Making mistakes are part of the learning process right? Run the whole thing again with this command. From command prompt >> core {=hda1} swapfile=/mnt/hda1 Will see how it runs...
The /mnt/sda is usually a usb drive i'd use this for your swapfile, the /mnt/hda1 will be your harddrive with windows installed i guess. You can copy the .cap from the temp folder to your pendrive or use the -w switch in airodump theres plenty of info about airodump on the net i'd do a little reading.
Q1: How do i edit the airodump-ng files so that it will automatically run when minidwep is started. Q2: Any idea on what is the full command to it? Then there's the --ivs command, does it save the file with the ivs extension instead of the cap extension? What's the difference of it being saved as ivs or cap extension? Anyone here ever encountered the No space Let On Device Error? Hopefully to get a workaround on this issue. Thanks. Sent from my GT-P6200 using Tapatalk 4
You'd have to edit the minidwep script. And wouldn't recomend using it if you keep running out of memory. As i said it's well documented do more research i wont spoonfeed anyone, but capturing ivs would use less space It's not really a issue You have to little memory Your options are 1) Reduce the number of apps in your onboot 2)Boot into text mode and do everything by commandline 3)Make your drive persistent (use a real filesystem) Therse a basic guide on here or plenty on the net. 4)buy more ram it's cheap enough
If you read my previous post properly you would have noticed that i was using a dual core system with 2Gig of ram, how much more do i need? 4Gig, 8 Gig? If you think you are spoon feeding me you are wrong. I tried searching on the web on this error and didn't get much of a workaround even with the commands being available, so this is call Spoon fed?? beini is years old use the latest xiaopan The full command for what ?? if its write to folder just run airodump from the folder you want to save it or -w path to where you want to save it.cap, as i said its well documented on aircracks site. I can run it on a pentium 700mhz with 180mb of ram, so your obviously doing somthing wrong, we cant make it any easier to use.
I can even run Xiaopan 0.4.6.1 on an AMD PIC: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personal_Internet_Communicator without issues...
Hi Meknb, Sorry for the late reply, after doing a bit of trial and error it seems that the rate of the injection is set to a rate of 500 by default(Beini). Changed it to 100 and managed to crack most of Wep available within minutes. But the point is my issue is not solved as yet. Did try the airodump-ng -w command but saved as ivs extension. Will read up more and then will continue here. Sent from my GT-P6200 using Tapatalk 4
Hi Fantasma, thanks for letting me that you can run on a basic system. I need a solution to why i'm not being able to run it properly. If you set the packet injection rate higher like 500 and above did you encounter any out of space problem? Thanks. Sent from my GT-P6200 using Tapatalk 4
