Nokia Nokia N900 Pentest Suite v2

for all those of you who have a nokia n900 (and if you havnt got one you really are missing out) there is a great pentest suite called "pwnphone" it includes aircrack-ng, metasploit wireshark and ettercap among many others. this is an amazing phone and an amazing set of programmes.

first things first you need to reflash your phone,


visit http://skeiron.org/tablets-dev/nokia_N900/
download these two files
1. "eMMC content 10.2010.13-2"
2. "PR 1.3 version 20.2010.36-2"



then goto http://skeiron.org/tablets-dev/maemo_dev_env_downloads/
and download
"maemo flasher 3.5"
for whatever system it is you have.


follow this link to maemo flashing guide, it is much more imformative than i can be. just remember flash the eMMC first dont let the phone reboot then reflash the firmware (pr1.3). but read the whole page, if you dont do it correct your phone will go into a boot loop. which is a pain. but dont worry it is easy to bring back to life.

i am assuming you have already downloaded the pwniephone image
if not folow the links on the page. the full install instructions are in the readme follow them carefully and wait it takes about an hour but doesnt look like it is doing any thing.

and of course you have to check out http://talk.maemo.org everyone on there is very helpful it is a great community.

what operating system are you using? i have only used 64 bit Ubuntu and it worked every time. i know to install the flasher in 64bit you have to:

Select All

sudo dpkg -i --force-architecture <flasher-package-name>

Your phone has to be off and USB unplugged, you the type

sudo flasher-3.5 -F <firmware-image> -f

in Terminal, then plug phone into USB.

 

all the original nokia software will be there and you can install anything from the repositories, pwnphone is not a seperate operating system.
