Guys, Connecting my android phone with usb to my internet capable laptop so I can surf using my phone, is this possible with the default setup which I have? 1. Unrooted Android phone with GingerBread 2.3.6 2. Window XP Been browsing the whole day for some ways but most does not support with what I have. Some needed Window 7 to create hotspot, some needed my phone to be rooted so it picks up "Adhoc Connection" Anyone willing to share some method which work for me? Thanks and Cheers
U need to root ur phone first, and then tethering. Will be much easier. As long as ur laptop is wifi capable, which laptops usually are today, u should have no problem after u root

Problem solved, reformatted my computer to Window 7. Using the Microsoft Virtual Wifi to create hotspot. Only downside was browsing speed is not as good as directly connecting to a wireless router and drivers need to be updated to prevent system from freezing. Got this from a blog, hassle free software to create hotspot for newbie like me . Interested party can download from here http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?akz0a4nvra13xak Unrooted Android phones supported.
either that or use Easy Tether PRO..no need to have a rooted device..and get the benefit of full speed by USB unlike WiFi you might get some speed loss..here's the link http://www.papktop.com/easytether-pro-1-1-1.html
ImJoJo Nice share I'm actually trying to browse with my phone using the internet connection from my pc( hotspot). I believe Easy Tether is for sharing your phone Internet connection with PC thus the thread title Reverse Tethering.
