I've been having problems connecting my wireless USB adapter (ASUS n-13 B1) in virtualbox (Ubuntu)

The essential problem I've noticed, after many different approaches, is that as soon as I "tick" the device in virtualbox, the actual USB adapter powers off and virtualbox fails to recognise it in the "Network settings"

I've read some other forums and I think the problem may be about installing the linux driver for the USB, but I'm not sure how to do that dual-booting. Could somebody please explain this to me?

    Host System: Windows 8

    Thanks a lot guys.

Just disable the usb adapter in windows, the network settings are for bridged so shouldn't need to touch them
Also you will need to install the extensions pack for virtual box to use the usb.

If I do that, I get this error:

Could not start the machine UBUNTU because the following physical network interfaces were not found:
    ASUS USB-N13 300Mbps 11n Wireless USB dongle (adapter 1)
You can either change the machine's network settings or stop the machine.

    Did you?'

VirtualBox is getting worse and worse lately. Use VMware or Parallels.
