    Hello,
Just getting in to networking and came across this site. Glad I did. I am reading a lot and trying to soak it up. I have currently installed BT5R3 on my Macbook Pro 17" Late 2012 model. Running Mt lion. Purchased the ALfa NH USB have not recv yet but should. I am looking to start with Wifi Security and the exploits of it. The inner working and also the outer workings with the linux sys. If anyone has good pointer of where to start I would that information. I have D/l BT5 beginners book which i will start on but I am also intreasted in learning this Xiaopan. Can some one tell me please the main software that I need to get going and enjoying this wonderful world of darkness IP technology. I am running VM 9 on the Macbook Pro. If you have a list of software or shortcut key commands that would be helpful as i have not really a great knowledge of typing in linux code or looks like ms-dos to me.

    Thanks a Bunch!

You have mentioned different areas of I.T.
Which of the topics that you have mentioned, would you like to focus on at this point?

I think I should learn the basic of using linux and what the codes mean so I know what I am typing. to me it just a bunch of letters right now.... for example -a 2: 34:er etc. I don't want to learn everything about linux just enough to get me through BT5 and I think Xiaopan. I am going to focus on those 2 programs right now. from my understanding of installing BT5 its a linux based OS well both of them actually.A cheat sheet would be great I could not find one on here and when I look on google everyone has something diffirent posted I just want the run down of the correct way to work with the commands.

Then I think the Wifi security part will come fluent to me as I start to learn commands and what they mean and do.

Depending on how deep you want to go into the Linux C shell or BASH shell this could take you anywhere from 6 months to years. it all comes down to what field of I.T you want to focus on.

You won't find a one, it would take me too long to go into detail why.

Can you be specific, what procedure are you attempting to perform?
