This is my beginners start up kit I bought most of it from amazon.co.uk and carboot sales (garage sales in america) Its not a proper set-up , although I am still learning. I did my research and think im good to go. Albeit slap-dash. 1: Asus tf101 currently running clockwork mod, will be installing kali arm edition soon. 2: Lenovo z500 that runs fedora 19 perfectly with all the usual software for penning my home network. 3: Nook Glow light, with 50 different linux, admin, penn testing ebooks. So I can learn on the fly. 4: A realtek chip RT2870/RT3070 that i wanted to solder an SMA connector orignally but the pcb board is sort of locked down. I use it for close proximity Probes. 5: 8gb kingston drive with kali live boot and a sperate bootable partition for fedora 19. 6: TL-WN722N with an SMA connector nice piece of wifi kit. 7: two default antennas that came with the tl-wn722n and the alfa, which are really quite good at short range!! 8: My budget Yagi antenna that I purchased from amazon.co.uk for £8.36 about $14USD Had to boost the DB gain output from my alfa and the region code using: ifconfig wlan0 down iw reg set BO iwconfig wlan0 txpower 30dbm ifconfig wlan0 up 9: A different project im working on this is a DVB-T usb with a magentic antenna i ultimately want to look at software defined radio (opensource) with this product. To snoop the analogue world. 10: A tripod that doesn't mount shi** 11: One of the best penning cards in the world the awus036h love this little b/g device. 12: usb extension cables for improved yagi positioning. Hope you liked it and happy penning!
Thanks Xcell, yeah I done my research before buying anything. I think my yagi needs a little hardware tweaking.
