Have you upgraded to Service Pack 3 in Windows? I would install this, despite the warning and see how it goes. I think Windows 7 & 8 are the best OSs to use when using Virtualisation. Alternatively, create a host Ubuntu system and Virtualise Windows XP This is not a fix but will get rid of that error message: 1. Right-click > My Computer 2. Click > Properties 3. Click > Hardware 4. Click > Driver Signing under Drivers 5. Click > Ignore Pascal he has XP, he won't be able to install VMware or Parallels.

Just hit "Continue Anyway"....if you are having so much problem with virtual machine, invest on a USB and its dirt cheap nowadays.
