So this is how I roll. I have 3 PC's and 2 have Airlive WT2000PCI wih 8dbi Omni directional antenna's From TPlink TL-ANT2408C They are for medium/short range activities. My main rig has 16 gigs of ram and six core processor for better bruteforcing and other stuff. Main rig has 2 wireless systems. First one is Airlive WL 1700USB Second one is my newly accquired ALFA AWUS036NHR Also the alfa got a big ass antena TL-ANT2415D 15 dBi My main rig is dual boot Win7 and Backtrack and other two just have Windows XP on them. I have 3 usb drives Hi-speed 2.0 with Xiaopan 0.4.3 on them wich are used to boot from.
Nice setup, especially your main one. How does the TL-ANT2415D 15 dBi perform compared to the standard 5dbi from ALFA? I am thinking about getting one.
It does a good job but make sure your cable is not longer than 4 meters after that Alfa's power gets drained and its range gets reduced but overalll I get the range about 800 meters without problems...
I am interested in this antenna too (TL-ANT2415D 15 dBi ), but I worry about the shape of this product especially when installed on the rooftop, what if the lightning strike ...
Small update: Main rig now running at 8 Cores (AMD FX 8320) 8 gigs of RAM DDR3 running trio boot win 7 kali and old version of xiaopan(soon to be updated).
