Ok, I have made a little extension that allows you to see when you get a notification from the Forums. The notification is both visual and audible. Also thinking about making another extension called: XiaopanSearch - search in your toolbar quickly In the Toolbar Clicking it with a left click will open your account alerts page, right click you have more options On the bottom right Thinking about publishing this on the chrome webstore (only costs $5.00 for a developer account) but would like feedback to see if it works for you and also get some suggestions like: Visual appearance Different audio cue Description This would work amazingly on a Mac with Growl: http://growl.info/ Visit: HTML: Select All chrome://extensions/ Click developer mode (top right) Drag the .crx file (attached below) into the chrome://extensions/ window Then configure options. See the image below. Here are some alert options that you can choose from The benefits of having this is you do not have to check the Forums for a reply or someone mentioned something in your watched thread. E.g: Be researching hard or on Facebook and boom, you get an Alert right away This will work on any XenForo based forum, obviously you need to save the crx to zip, extract the contents and edit the files to suit your forum. This would be great if someone could develop a XenForo Addon for this. Most of the work was done from hawkfalcon at Bukkit: http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/ch...ified-of-new-alerts-in-bukkit-anywhere.86294/
Xcell, save the file to your desktop. Open up the extensions page... select developer mode... and drag the crx into the extensions page window? Workaround I think: http://www.ghacks.net/2012/06/12/ch...ripts-cannot-be-installed-from-this-web-site/
it works: just when you download, click it from the bar down the page (the downloaded file) and drop it like this: then it will ask to add/install... it works great thanks for this Mr. Penguin
Amz as it checks for alerts at specific intervals it should keep you logged in for longer. You can logout but you must do it on the forums.
Mr. Penguin updated XiaopanAlert with a new update entry: Forum Notifications (formally XiaopanAlert) Read the rest of this update entry...
