ohnda: Guys.. noob here from England.. got a new cheap Lenovo.. Xiaopan falling over on install from usb, 'unable to enumerate USB device on port 1 ' then endless loop image screen attached ) really thank you for thoughts on this one, major roadblock
stuck virtualbox on ubuntu 14.04 and xiaopan now installed but as a guest I think it filters the usb and ubuntu 14.04 as the host cannot see the awus036h as it is not a support 14.04 driver Rtl817 whatever.. question is... can Xiaopan ever use a card/driver that is not natively supported by the host OS ie 14.04 ubuntu via virtualbox and its filters.. prob not is my guess. I think the guest can only see and use a driver and card that the host supports ie if it works with the host OS . not sure what nice aircrack compatible chipset drivers are ok with ubuntu 14.04 ? any ideas ?
The awus036h is supported in xiaopan just make sure it is not loaded in ubuntu, only one os can use the card at a time.
