You do not need a Wireless adapter to perform the cracking process on a .cap file for WPA. Once the WPA Handshake is captured, you do not need to continue to collect data. ~Aby$m.

Some keys can take me 20 days plus with gpu so without i wouldn't bother. Look into oclhashcat where you can pause resume save progress, also if you look into using gpu can reduce time.
