dont know...just buy the alfa, u will not regret it..................example the price of alfa is 30$ (lifetime) and wifi is 50-100$ (month) so if u crack neighbour wifi actually u save a lot of money........................................BUT DONT CCRACK WIFI, ASK THEIR PERMISSION
Well, in first place i can tell you: 1.- your card seems to be an Atheros AR3011 with Bluetooth 3.0, (that chipset is quite rare or i never heared before) 2.- your card is a pci card (internal) and this kind of cards don't work in VM environment and... 3.- Try using it as Llive CD / Live USB
Live usb mean extracting iso data to USB and boot from it? And im using laptop dell n5110 and yes its atheros with bt 3.0.

You can't expect this to work with your (no offence) crappy low power internal card. You need compatible hardware for Reaver to work and the software drivers to run it. You need a card that supports injection / monitor mode. Spend a bit of money and you shouldn't have any problems. Please research Reaver Compatible Cards and how Reaver works to assist you further. what happens when you run the following commands in Terminal? Code: Select All iwconfig Code: Select All ifconfig
You don't have the drivers installed, how can Reaver work? you wouldn't even be able to connect to the internet with it.

He is right, it will not. Your only option is Live. I hope you mean Wireless LAN (WLAN) and not ethernet. Please enter the commands above in your live usb and also run: Code: Select All airmon-ng You can also use: Code: Select All lsusb -v to check the device description and identify the actual hardware using the iProduct value: 0 = AR3011 2 = AR3012 If your device is a USB type. Which it isn't, just adding information if anyone else has issues. I doubt your card supports injection, I also doubt that it would even work with aircrack-ng.
Try starting airmon, then run Reaver: Reaver Pro | Free Download Available If it does not work, your card will not work with Reaver, sorry.
if u want to know if u card is working with reaver pro.....try to use the card with backtrack..if backtrack can detect it, u have a chance

actually, if u realy realy want to know u card will work with reaver...try using backtrack 5r2 without updating compat wireless or anythig else, just let it raw......................if it detect your card..u success rate it high but if backtrack detect u card after updating compat wireless....the success rate is little bit lower
if u have faster internet speed and unlimited bandwith....u can download backtrack 5r2, and put it in usb................................................if u dont have good internet try xiaopan 0.4.1 or xiaopan 0.4.2.2
