hi I am using xiaopan 0.4.7.2 in usb thumb-drive I wish to get more guide using crunch in xiaopan. I wish to build a leaner wordlist because with iuse xiaopan to do it crunch 13 13 abc0123456789 -s abc0100000000 -e abc0199999999 -o /hplist.txt the above crunch syntax created a 8GB hplist.txt and has lots codes i don't need. please help i get out of space on my 1GB thumb-drive i use Kali Linux thru vmware n it made a 8GB wordlist but is unable to copy it out to a external usb drive my crunch syntax is not specific to hack wifi key around me and it has lots of unwanted keys in the list I want to crunch only from abc0100000000 to abc0199999999 and then from 0100000000abc to 0199999999abc from abcd062310000 to abcd063399999 from 062310000abcd to 063399999abcd 1. what is the correct crunch syntax as per above requirement 2. how to get out the wordlist.txt from Kali Linux vmware 3. how to use the wordlist store in an usb hdd inside xiaopan live usb 4. how to update/upgrade the crunch version in xiaopan 0.4.7.2 in my usb thumb-drive? I can help you with the syntax for crunch but somebody else will have to help you with the rest of your questions as I do not use VMWare or Xiaopan. The syntax to generate the wordlist for abc0100000000 to abc0199999999 is Code: Select All crunch 13 13 01234567890 -t abc01@@@@@@@@ -o /hplist1.txt The syntax to generate the wordlist for 0100000000abc to 0199999999abc is Code: Select All crunch 13 13 01234567890 -t 01@@@@@@@@abc -o /hplist2.txt The syntax to generate the wordlist for abcd062310000 to abcd062399999 is Code: Select All crunch 13 13 01234567890 -t abcd0623@@@@@ -o /hplist3.txt * I assume that you had a typo and wanted this to end at abcd062399999 instead of abcd063399999 The syntax to generate the wordlist for 062310000abcd to 062399999abcd is Code: Select All crunch 13 13 01234567890 -t 0623@@@@@abcd-o /hplist4.txt * I assume that this is also a typo and you wanted this to end at 062399999abcd instead of 063399999abcd The first two files are still going to be 1.4GB each so I would recommend you get a larger thumb drive as they are not expensive these days. Let me know if my assumption are incorrect or if you have further questions related to crunch.
wow, I will indeed try your suggestions as soon as I am at my test jig again. perhaps forget about vmware since I cannot get the txt file yet Thanks a million! nope, it was intentional - I wanted it to start and ends : abcd062310000 to abcd063399999 and also start and ends : 062310000abcd to 063399999abcd kindly advise, is it better to join the 4 txt files and make it into one large file for cracking ease or do 1 file at a time to crack since the size of each file is quite large too?

Assuming you get around 4,000 keys/sec, it will take a little longer than 14 hours to go through the combined keyspace for a single handshake.

I do not believe that can be done using just one line. You will have to using a separate command for each length from 9 to 13. However I am not clear on what you are trying to generate from character length 9 to 12 as all your examples are 13 characters. Please clarify.

How about making a list xxx062310000 to xxx062549999 i.e. 12 length xxx means using all character on the US language keyboard, includes symbol, numbers and alphabet(small letters and capital letters), for example , $eT062328888? if the list is too huge, then how about just making the first character (x) of a list to use all character on the US language keyboard, includes symbol, numbers and alphabet(small letters and capital lettters), xbc062310000 to xbc062549999 I am trying to crack my own WPA i.e. w/o WPS to learn Xiaopan 0.4.7.2 Cracking using minidwep-gtk. I have set my WiFi to @bc062328888. Sadly, I have not been successful yet. and then the next list generated = xxc062310000 to xxc062549999, first and second letter to use all character on the US language keyboard, includes symbol, numbers and alphabet(small letters and capital letters). I have made and use the 10MB list and test/learn cracking my WiFi today and good news i have succeeded. I copied and paste the first crunch command you referenced above and there was no issue. It started at !bc062310000 as expected and generated 94240000 lines. I am using crunch version 3.6. What version are you using? The second crunch command you have does not work because you used a template of @bc0623%%%%% but the endstring is 9bc062549999. There is no way the 3 in the template will ever match the 5 in the endstring. Edit: I did some calculations and do see that the first crunch command is generating quite a bit more words than what you want. The only way that I can think off right now is to split up the word generation into two parts, one for the left side where you will have the special characters and the right part where you will have the rest. Afterwards combine them back using another utility like combinator. Example left part file would contain Code: Select All ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) - Example right part file would contain Code: Select All bc062310000 bc062310001 bc062310002 bc062310003 bc062310004 bc062310005 You should be able to figure out the crunch command to generate those by now.
It is silly me. I cannot even find out my crunch version. I then dumped Xiaopan and used Kali Linux in VMWare. My host Win10 Preview crashed suddenly.Not sure if it is VMware or Win10 being unstable. I will search for "combinator". I will separate my crunch list generation as per your advise after I fixed my PC. I am downloading Win10 Pro Insider Preview 10074 since yesterday. My internet here is only 1Mbps. Perhaps, later, today I can start CRUNCHing again.
You can download the latest combinator from https://hashcat.net/tools/hashcat-utils/hashcat-utils-1.1.7z. Included are both the Linux (combinator.bin) and Windows (combinator.exe) binaries.
my crunch version is 3.6 embedded in kaliLinux version 1.1.0 32bit i am now running it in vmware player inside win 8.1 host
You have the same version of crunch as I do. I am pretty sure now it is just the way crunch increments. You should get a list that is a few times smaller doing it the way I described above.
I went off air because my computer crashed with installing Mint Linux based on ubuntu. The computer hdd also has multi boot of win10,win7,win8.1 - all crashed, and is due to hdd failure. I have to get a new hdd and redo all - and it is finally done today. I have install Mint Linux installed but it does not have crunch and also unable to install crunch. So I have to install vmware and run kali-linux32 in it. I am now trying crunch in kali-linux out different crunch syntax. I hope to see the light of day in few days time. As I mentioned previously you will need to split it up into separate crunch sessions and combine the results. The first part will generate all the possible characters for your first letter. The second part will generate the rest including the numbers up to 062399999. Hi gearjunkie, I have successfully crunch-generated several dictionary txt files using various crunch syntax that you have showed me. I have read a lot on the tool, combinator, linux and Win32 versions, through hashcat portal but a cannot find the correct method to save the COMBINED dictionary file into a single file in my tests. my example below run combinator in windows 8.1 command prompt, combinator @.txt bc06231.txt @.txt =>created by: crunch 1 1 \!\@\#\$\%\^\&\*\(\)\-\_\+\=\~\`\[\]\{\}\|\\\:\;\"\'\<\>\,\.\?\/\ abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ0123456789 -t @ -o /media/@.txt bc06231.txt =>=>created by: crunch 11 11 -t bc0623%%%%% -s bc062310000 -e bc062399999 -o /media/bc06231.txt then I tried my old BASIC command i.e. combinator @.txt bc06231.txt > abc06231.txt YES! the > syntax WORKS! Cracking WPA is laborious, I will say so! I have successfully cracked my own WiFi WPA key because I know the WiFi key because I am Bias to use my pre-determined WORDLIST that I created that matches the word pattern in the KEY that I already know, so my 1.4GB wordlist/text file easily cracked my WiFi key using Xiaopan 0.4.7.2 in 20 minutes. Then so to test my skills in the REAL WORLD and armed with knowledge with crunch (thanks to gearjunkie), Xiaopan, and to understand Minipwep-gtk better, I embarked to test cracking my neighbour's WPA2. Sadly, with a total of 232GB of Wordlists and hundreds of such files that I have stored in my USB HDD, and running for the past 10 days, I failed to crack its WPA2 key. Those Wordlists are collections from the www and some from my CRUNCH's creations. I will still carry on trying cracking using Minipwep-gtk and if any hobbyist out here have better tools and better methods, I hope to hear from you. T.I.A.
