Hey everyone, new here. Take it easy on me!! I need halp! I'm not new to the networking world but I am new to the pentest scene and trying to learn as much as I can while I'm not doing my networking stuff. I was hoping someone can help point me in the right direction for learning what I need to crack these captures. I have a Netgear WAP to mess with and I downloaded the netgear github wordlist but I'm not sure how to use it. I've just use simple aircrack-ng commands with wordlists I've come across. Even if it's a link to learn I would appreciate it. This is the capture I have if someone could even help me for now. Thanks! I'll probably have more questions so resources will help
I use kali linux, aircrack-ng is too slow for cracking hashes, ideally you would want a good GPU . There's plenty of videos on youtube to have a sniff at. thats how i started.
Thank you kind sir. I have a VM that I'm using right now with 10 cores allocated so I hope that gives it some power but if a GPU is exponentially better then I'm going to have to pop one in! I'll deff have to do some looking around in my downtime.
There is a list called netgearkiller - but its incomplete. i can't seem to get my hands on it- i've heard its 27Gbs big. Post the cap and i'll have a crack at it.
Thank you, longshanks... I downloaded netgear.txt, noun.txt and adjective.txt. Opening them with wordpad, I found there are NOT any lists of adjectives/nouns, which explains a lot because these were worthless in Hashcat. Am I missing something obvious here? Alternatively, can I get a .zip of the NETGEARxx wordlist 1.08 off a torrent or from a newsgroup? Any advice will be much appreciated!!
I haven't had any problem with them in hashcat. are you using windows? try notepad. I am using kali linux of course. I see what you mean, its now missing netgear-adjective-noun.txt. here you go. (yes you did miss something mate, its the netgear.txt, or are you after the one with the 3 digits on the end?)
I keep getting the error with opencl kernel self-test failed with my AMD card. Can someone try this cap file for me? Thank you very much.
i have try with 8 digit number and rockyou dictionary but still not found, please help... or anyone have gpuhash dictionary, it found in gpuhash for 15 minutes Thanks Best Regards
I had noticed some people were having trouble understanding Github, when downloading for the first time. This is including myself, some time ago. I would like to pass on something special I have found. Bulk downloading & searching in Github. Downloads don't have to be done manually, you can just scoop all the files up. Super fast and really neat like. First we go to the Github File downloader: https://minhaskamal.github.io/DownGit/#/home?url= What would we put in. Perhaps? https://github.com/soxrok2212/PSKracker Hit download. Everything saved together. Drill down for you know what. With that all out the way, lets try search: https://github.com/search?utf8=✓&q=&type= Perhaps Wordlists, maybe? https://github.com/search?utf8=✓&q=Wordlists&ref=simplesearch And we have rows & rows of choice info to see. We can then load the paths into the Github downloader I mentioned above, for any needed download. Enjoy.
Still trying to get the netgear wordlist v.1.08. That link so often given in this thread that used to have it seems to be no longer updated.... (ie: github.com/soxrok2212/PSKracker/tree/master/dicts/netgear - the netgear.txt there does NOT contain a wordlist) Is the "netgear.txt" file found in soxrok's PSKracker page the latest version?
