You have selected the right kernel. But for some reason it is corrupted. That can be an issue when you might not of downloaded all of it. Can you open it with UltraISO or PowerISO. If an error pops up with one of those applications you know there is a problem with the ISO you created. If it opens with no warnings or errors, you might have to upgrade your VMware workstation to the latest version 8 or 9 (sometimes people have issues with 9).
I actually read this entire thread, I think I deserve some kind of medal. LOL. Thank you for the download link for Reaver Pro, it downloaded easily and installation no problem. My machine is Windows XP running Virtual Box, started right up and my Alfa 036H was recognized right away. Hit the play button and a bunch of networks showed up. I was happy. But maybe I was expecting something more than Reaver 1.4. The speed of Pro doesn't appear any different. The stubborn AP's that don't want to give it up easily are still acting stubborn. Unless there is some great update that wasn't included in the iso is available I'd have to say I like using 1.4 on the command line better. Were my expectations too high? Anyone have any thoughts? Thank you so much for your hard work guys! I downloaded the regular Reaver Pro which is about 1 GB , and I'm using VMware , it says the wifi card is connected and shows blue icon , but not blinking and when I press Play its not connecting nor showing any available channel. I guess I will download the suit with the VMWare already.. My question is I use ALFA awus036nhr on backtrack 5 r2, and when I use the wash -i mon0 command, only displays 802.11.n networks! it doesn't display 802.11.g any idea why or how to fix this? Thank you!
Same here mate. I Think it's because of drivers, i have a RT3070, work's perfect with other Distros, but not with reaver pro. SAD...
Hm,... i do no really now how i get started my wlan access card called Intel Centrino Advanced 6205 in Linux Backtrack,, alternativ i ve got an usb stick /avm Fritz N version 300mbits but there i found only drivers for suse linux 10.1 Please can you help me i ve got backtrack and your little helpless tool so i ll need help installing network card Intel Centrino Advanced 6205 in Backtrack 5. Many wishes from Europe/D.
Connecting, hacking or both? http://www.wikidevi.com/wiki/Intel_Centrino_Advanced-N_6205 Firmware drivers are here: http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/iwlwifi and be sure to select the right kernel. For the price I was expecting something Pro. There is nothing pro with a point and click interface with no advanced settings. Bloated and buggy as hell they sure did rip off their customers TNS and Hak5.
you can download a version of 436 MB here. http://www.xiaopan.co/forums/threads/howto-squeeze-reaver-pro-onto-a-cd.367/page-2
